The latest in the IIBA UK series framed by the 3 Laws of Engagement© to flip top-down, vague narrative and %'s into bottom-up, practical steps with empirical data. Goggles on and strap yourself in Martin Johnson will take us on a deep-dive of a further two of the twelve Practices of Engagement©, voted in the last session, for you to practically improve your Engagement Coefficient (Ɛ), Collaboration Velocity (Cv) and Productivity (ρ) featuring in the 3 Laws respectively:
LOOK OUT FOR PATTERNS “The mind is a pattern making system. The mind creates patterns out of the environment and then recognises and uses such patterns”. Ed De Bono
With so much information in developing businesses it's a real stretch to focus on the key areas and make sense of what's going on. Thinking about patterns is a way of distilling down the essence of a business, a problem and a conversation to expose the key elements. We’ll look at an example of a pattern you can adopt in your work today and how to spot others.
POSITIVE FEEDBACK is a scientific term to describe a process in which the end product of an action causes more of that action to occur as a loop. This amplifies the positive elements of the original, in this context, content or ideas. That means both getting the content as right as you can but as importantly doing it in a way that encourages you all to ‘experience together’. The more you are able to collaborate the ‘more right’ it becomes! We’ll look at a way to benefit from this in your work.
Your take-away will be a series of new ideas, connections and references to progress your personal development against IIBA and CIPD competency frameworks. All delivered at tempo with activities to maximise interaction, increase engagement and independent thinking. Some fun too!
Mart @ YourBigPic is passionate about colleagues being a voice in the organisation. So much so that he has developed a product to do just that, BIG PICTURE©, to help colleagues join their dots at work. Martin specialises in providing a simple and reasonable framework that pretty much anyone in your organisation can get involved with. When it comes to Change, Performance, Learning and Onboarding let's put the colleague at the centre. For the top of the shop why not implement successful Strategy and Finance with the same engaging approach for bottom-line impacts and a clear ROI.
