An Australian Business Analyst’s journey through competence and resilience

While in Asia Tim once stared at both his Australia & British passports and thought to himself to take the known predicable path or the unknown adventure. Luckily he chose the latter & embarked on an amazing journey which led him to working in 18 countries around the world. Meeting his wife in London, travelling and developing the skills to run a multi-million dollar company, self-doubt and resilience were his biggest obstacles. However his experience as a professional athlete helped him to tackle these positively and repurpose the fear of failure. He navigated adversity of moving his life to other countries to work and later realised that the experiences changed his life for the better. He is now currently in Australia.

He recognises that Australia is a leader in the maturity of business analysis and is working hard to push this even further. The IIBA Australian chapter won “chapter of the year” in 2014, and have effervescent branches in the capital cities and an annual festival of business analysis conference.

Please join Tim to hear how his travels as a BA helped him become more competent and resilience. Also, discover what working is like in Australia if you decide to travel in the future!
