Business Architecture

Much has been written about technical and solution architectures, without due attention being given to how these work together with the Business Architecture.

It is easy to believe that those who are involved in business analysis, requirements definition and systems modelling do not need to consider the Business Architecture at all. This could not be further from the truth. This talk explains the rationale behind Business Architecture, what its main components are and why Business Analysts should ensure that they understand it and the influence it is likely to have on their work.

Paul Turner FBCS is a Director of Assist Knowledge Development specialising in the provision of training and consultancy in the areas of Business Analysis, Business Change and IS Consultancy. Paul has been involved with the IIBA UK Chapter since its inception and presented at both the very first IIBA event in the UK and at its first regional event. Paul is also the co-author of the BCS Business Analysis Techniques book and a BCS Chief Examiner.

North Highland's Top Models

Come and hear from our Top Models in a skills session that will teach you how to be a top modeler! By the end of the session you will be able to walk the walk, talk the talk and build your modelling portfolio to showcase your skills.

Aimed at BAs that don't currently use standardised notations we will give you real tools that you can use immediately in your role. You can also come along just to hear about how you can enrich your current skills and walk the catwalk more confidently.

Aman Rana and Nicola Percy are Business Analysts at North Highland Managed Services (previously qBA). The team at North Highland Managed Services (NHMS) are actively encouraged to contribute to the BA community by sharing knowledge.

Aman's and Nicola's specialist area of expertise is process modelling having introduced a methodology based around BPMN 2.0. at North Highland. Both have successfully passed this on to clients in the Retail, Media and Aviation sectors.

This event is sponsored by North Highland Managed Services. There will be refreshments and networking opportunities at the end of the event at around 8.30pm.
