Want to find out what the elephant in the room is for business analysts seeking value? Like to discover how a business analyst can become a Business Value Maximisation Specialist (BVMS)? Attend this webinar and all will be revealed!
Business analysts are expected to be at the heart of value creation, in collusion with their project managers, product owners, product managers, subject matter experts, etc. But do they have the structures, methods and tools with which to do so? In the 1980s and ‘90s David Jacobs thought they did not. He thought methods and practices for mediating between business and IT to produce business value were ’not up to the job’. He embarked on a three-decade long research & development programme that led to the development of Business Value Maximisation Framework (BVMF) TM . This unique set of models and techniques now presents the underlying, fundamental principles of this Holy Grail like art (or science) that will enhance any other approach or method’s ability to produce organisational value from IT.
In this entertaining webinar David covers the history of IT business value and the development of BVMF TM. He will provide an insight into the pros and cons of existing commonly used methods, especially waterfall, agile and wagile, in respect of their ability to engender value and explain why and how BVMF TM can fill the gaps. He will end by outlining ways in which business analysts (and other business IT professionals) can significantly, even dramatically, improve their abilities in the practice of IT value maximisation by demonstrating a few of the central principles and techniques he has developed.
Given that interest has significantly increased in BVMF TM in recent years, via his company MaxVal Consultancy Ltd, David is now training and certifying business analysts and licensing their organisations. Why not attend and see how understanding what the elephant in the room consists of can boost your ability as a BA to engender value for your organisation?
Now in the fifth decade of his career, David started looking at IT business value in the 1980s after he managed to get some notably good results for business organisations. In the 1990s he started writing down his techniques which morphed into Business Value Maximisation Framework (BVMF) TM . He now uses BVMF TM to help business IT professionals get much higher levels of value and success than per industry norms.
David has presented on this theme to audiences including the British Computer Society’s project management group (BCS PROMS-G), the Association of Project Management (APM), the National Computing Centre (NCC) and the Post Office’s business analysis team.
David has had a number of articles published and made contributions to books on IT success and business value.
David’s presentation style is hard hitting, honest and progressive. His webinars are insightful and effective, like the techniques he has devised to support breathing some optimally nourished life into the elephant!

version of common sense; I wish I had known about it years ago.”
