Using rich pictures, a collaboration and investigation technique

Kay Hardy shall be talking about how to use rich pictures to analyse a range of situations for collaboration and investigation.

Since the first cave paintings, humans have used drawing to navigate our conscious and subconscious thought. The technique of rich pictures seeks to capitalise on drawing’s ability to form ideas, but rich pictures can be daunting to those with little drawing experience. The truth is that anyone can draw but, like any other skill, drawing needs to be developed.  Let this session be your beginner’s guide to drawing rich pictures!

This talk will build the audience’s confidence by:
•       Give drawing tips and tricks
•       Give a live demonstration of a rich picture
•       Discuss how to formalise rich pictures in change delivery

Kay Hardy is a Senior Consultant at Capita Software. She has BA experience delivering large tech-enabled transformation programmes where she has experience in analysing business needs, business process analysis, redesign, requirement elicitation, solution design, testing and operational readiness. Kay has degrees in BSc Psychology and MSc Business and Organisational Strategy. Her Rich Picture session was presented at Business Analysis Conference Europe 2019 and rated highly by authors and industry leaders.

How to gain a business analysis education

Dr Mike Goodland shall be sharing his expert views and experience on gaining BA education, how a new aspirant can start a BA career by gaining the right business analysis education (such as BA apprenticeship, internship, BCS qualifications, IIBA qualification, universities). He will also dwell upon ways and steps towards becoming an experienced professional business analyst and the challenges on the journey of becoming expert business analyst.

Dr Mike Goodland has been working in IT for more than 20 years as a business analyst, consultant, trainer, author and university lecturer. He was instrumental in the development of business analysis and systems development methods for the UK government and his books on that method (SSADM) have sold more than 40,000 copies.

Mike has developed courses in business analysis that have been sold to many organisations (indeed you may find that other ISEB course providers are using our materials under licence) and given hundreds of courses on this and related areas. He also has considerable practical experience through working as a consultant on many key strategic projects. Coupled with his academic and teaching experience, this ensures that as a tutor you are getting someone whose knowledge is second to none.
