Business Analyst, Legal & General

Location: Kingswood / Cardiff / Birmingham / Hove
Salary: £36000 - £57000

Job Summary

The role will encompass the full spectrum of business analyst activities through the full project lifecycle.

The successful candidate will lead the requirements elicitation process on projects, including activities and deliverables for defining the the business opportunity/problem, planning and executing business analysis activities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead requirements elicitation processes on projects, including activities and deliverables for defining the business opportunity/problem, planning and executing business analysis, eliciting requirements from stakeholders and requirements documentation.
  2. Conduct requirements validation with stakeholders, gain appropriate approvals, and manage the change processes for requirements documentation.
  3. Ensure that there is clear requirements traceability throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  4. Critically review and evaluate any proposed solutions identifying alignment with business strategies making recommendations to key stakeholders ensuring they are fully aware of key risks and assumptions.
  5. Continually evaluate the quality of all deliverables, including those of 3rd parties, to ensure the end product is fit for purpose and are acceptable to all stakeholders.
  6. Ensure P3M3 Level 3 maturity is achieved and maintained by adhering to the standards set out in the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK), Agile Extension to the BABOK Guide, and core frameworks, ensuring that there is consistent high quality output.
  7. Take responsibility for the delivery of work packages allocated to less experienced staff, coaching and motivating them to deliver to the required standards.
  8. If Team Leader or equivalent, manage the team in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures, including the Partnership Agreement, so that the team's business objectives are achieved consistently.
  9. Ensure that appropriate prioritising, planning, resourcing and contingency for customer issues are integrated into programme and resource plans so they are central to delivery and aligned to L&G's Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly Policy.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required

  • Ideally, degree level qualification, or equivalent
  • Ideally, IIBA Certification
  • Thorough understanding of Business Analysis best practice and techniques
  • Proven ability to elicit requirements from Stakeholders at all levels in the organisation and record them in a clear and concise manner
  • Familiar with the end to end project processes and IT delivery cycle
  • Able to quickly gain an understanding of the business context and own and support the business requirements from project initiation to project closedown
  • Able to explain complex ideas in simple terms to colleagues in L&G and contacts from L&G's clients and suppliers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to proactively share and present ideas professionally in a one to one or one to many situation
  • Quality and delivery focused, creative, self starter with the ability to motivate, influence and persuade
  • Independent, willing to follow and promote process and work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Proven track record of making effective decisions
  • Strong negotiation skills to enable facilitation of issue resolution with key internal business customers
  • Dynamic and able to respond well to changing priorities from different sources.
  • Enjoys a challenge, is comfortable in a changing environment and adapts well to new responsibilities and priorities
  • Able to handle stressful customer situations with poise
  • Experience of delivering leading edge digital solutions would be beneficial

Recruitment Process

The recruitment process for this role will entail an assessment day on either a Wednesday or Thursday and will involve either a full morning or afternoon session. This will entail 3 x online tests, plus a case study and interview, togrether with a capability interview and a presentation.

Location

The base location for this role may be in any of our 4 sites – Kingswood/Cardiff/Birmingham/Hove.
