The Business Analyst Role

Our Business Analysts work side-by-side with our business to serve as the bridge between technology and the business. On a day to day basis, this means talking to lots of people to ensure that all initiatives are running smoothly and delivers real benefits. It also includes:

• Eliciting requirements using a variety of techniques such as interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business processes, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
• Critically evaluating information gathered from multiple sources, reconciling conflicts, decomposing high-level information into details, abstracting up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguishing user requests from the underlying true needs.
• Proactively communicating and collaborating with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and delivering artifacts as needed
• Successfully engaging in multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Serving as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the development team through which requirements flow.
• Developing requirement artifacts according to standard templates, including user stories, using natural language.
• Being able to describe and communicate the value of an initiative in terms of both its benefits and costs in terms used by the business that will effectively obtain leadership understanding, support and approval of an initiative.
• Actively undertake QA sprint tasks including
• Support the development of test plans
• Creation of tests - both manual and automated
• Review user stories, code and tests
• Execute tests at all stages of the lifecycle
• Support developers in understanding how to software with the appropriate level of quality

Who we are looking for

We are looking for people with proven Business Analysis skills but we also only recruit people who are open, collaborative and who echo our values. You will also have all of the following:

• Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
• Requirement analysis skills that ensure the prioritization, verification and validation of requirements support the delivery of business value, fulfil goals and objectives and meet a stakeholder need
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
• Experience in planning and managing your workload, ensuring timely delivery for all BA and QA activities, including measuring and reporting on the quality of the work
• Well-developed influencing and decision making skills, showing clear leadership when it comes to driving out the definition of a problem and its solution
• Proven experience of working across the full project lifecycle (from initiation through to benefits realization) within both structured and agile project environments.
