Digital transformation - making it work for the customer in an Omni-channel world

The aim of this short presentation is to outline some the challenges organisations typically face in keeping up with the rapidly evolving expectations of the customer whilst delivering on commercial priorities. With the aid of some of Transform's research in this area, an illustrative framework derived from that framework, and with reference to some case studies I will aim to show the need to balance key areas of the digital ecosystem: Strategy | Culture | Technology | Customers | Channels.

Bill James is Chairman of Transform UK, leaders in customer centred change, a business he and his partners built before being acquired by Engine, the UK's largest independent marketing and communications group. Transform clients include some of the biggest brands in the UK and leading government departments/agencies. Bill is also Chairman of Triathlon England and Independent Director of British Triathlon Federation, playing his part in steering one of the most respected NGB's in the UK. Bill's career has included exec roles creating and building digital businesses in BT, Thomas Cook and Kingfisher.

Patrick Walsh came into the BBC from automotive quality management and has found some of the tools and techniques useful especially in his role as BA to Radio and Music. He has been working as a BA for over a year and his role is to ensure that users are front and centre when it comes to thinking about product improvements. Before that he worked as an Information Architect for 6 years within the BBC on projects such as iSite, Homepage, Semantic Web and Gateway.
