IIBA UK 10TH ANNIVERSARY TALK

 

Adam Blair is a Lead Business Analyst at National Grid with 6 years of experience as a Business Analyst and over 10 years of experience within the Utilities Industry across a number of blue chip companies.

During his career Adam has sought out key positions in business critical programmes building expertise and insight in process reengineering, data management and more recently adopted innovative analysis techniques using a blend of waterfall and agile delivery techniques.

Adam’s talk will be followed by a panel discussion on how agile practice (framework, tools and techniques) can be smoothly embedded in a large organisation. What skills are needed, key challenges faced and how to address those, followed by discussion from the floor.

 

Ian Richards, Pardeep Dhanda and Richard Powell will join Adam Blair on the panel to share their views and expertise.

Ian Richards is the IIBA®  Business Analyst of The Year 2016  presented at the IRM European Business Analysis Conference in September 2016.
Having started his career as a mathematics lecturer, Ian switched codes and has since accrued over 20 years of experience as a Business Analyst. Ian is currently a Managing Consultant within Capita's Transformation division. Ian is an active member of the International Institute of Business Analysts (IIBA®), presenting at many IIBA® events Nationwide. Ian has presented at the IRM Business Analysis Conference Europe in 2014 and 2016 and is one of the few, but increasing Certified Business Analysis Professionals™ (CBAP®) in the UK. Ian is very passionate about Business Analysis and has recently put his certification to good use by writing questions for the new Level 2 IIBA® Certification examinations.  

In his spare time, Ian is a Colour Sgt in his 27th year with the British Army Reserves.

 

 Pardeep Dhanda is the head of the Business Analysis (BA) Community of Practice in Deutsche Bank Birmingham and manages BA teams across multiple domains including Compliance IT, Treasury IT and HR Solutions IT. He has over 15 years of experience in Financial Services, Consulting and Telecommunications, and builds BA team capabilities within multi-vendor environments by embedding BA best practices within organisations.

Pardeep specialises in Agile, having previously led the Agile adoption within British Telecommunications offshore centers by training over 700 resources, taken on the Agile lead role within the IBM UK BA Practice and is currently responsible for implementing Agile best practices across multiple programmes within Deutsche Bank. Pardeep is a certified Product Owner and SCRUM Master.Pardeep is currently the IIBA Midlands Branch Chair and has his own personal blog: www.bablogger.com

 

 Richard Powell is an Agile SME who has over 10 years of experience within the IT industry. His current role in National Grid is to provide hands on advice on how to deliver projects in an Agile environment. This includes the use of multiple techniques such as SCRUM, Kanban and Extreme Programming to help leverage business value early whilst ensuring that teams do not cut corners and build quality into the software development lifecycle through good communication and solid working practices. Within his previous role, Richard lead the transformation from traditional ways of working to Agile and produced an award winning Business Transformation team that is recognised by both the Real IT awards and BCS UK Industry awards for Enterprise Mobility and improving overall operational efficiency within Construction. Other core competencies include Product Ownership, Business Analysis and Test Management.
