Stakeholder Management

In this session, Martin Maya explores some of the approaches and methods for effectively identifying and managing your business stakeholders.

Martin Maya is an experienced Business Analyst with a demonstrated history of working in the professional training & coaching industry. Martin is a strong business development professional, and is skilled in Business Architecture, Business Analysis and Stakeholders Engagement in both Financial Services and Telecommunications.

Delivering a BA service in an Agile world

The exciting buzzword for IT and Business Change at the moment seems to be ‘Agile’… but what is it, and precisely what do we mean when the term is brandished about?
Through a series of case studies and experience, Christian Hunter explores a number of examples where Agile didn’t quite work ....and more importantly, what could have been done better to implement the methodology more effectively.

Working as a Lead and Senior Business Analyst across a number and wide scope of projects, Christian Hunter has a proven track record leading successful product design across the UK and Canada. Through aligning business drivers and requirements to technology solutions and business process, Christian has had broad exposure working across the UK Big Six Utility providers and also within the Water Industry. Obtaining experience in both IT and Business Teams across a diverse range of clients, he has had the opportunity to deliver in a variety of different roles spanning technical design, customer journey and deployment solutions.

Applying agile principles to parenthood

Patrick Blain explores how, although it’s not all been plain sailing, he has applied concepts from his career to make him a better dad.
Topics such as failing fast, delivering small bits of value quickly and continuous improvement all make an appearance in this light hearted and interactive session, in which the audience will be highly encouraged to participate.

Expect brutal honesty, a bit of humour and some humble bragging throughout, and be prepared to share your own similar experiences.

Entering the world of Agile in 2015, Patrick Blain has worked as a business analyst, product owner and scrum master in the private and public sector. During that time, he’s gained a sound understanding of Agile principles, and has built on existing skills such as communication and stakeholder engagement. But what happens when applying the agile mindset and engagement skills to a particularly challenging stakeholder? A very demanding one, who has high standards, little patience, and doesn’t seem interested in what you have to say? This stakeholder is, of course, his new born daughter Phoenix.
