Design thinking is a mindset, toolkit and skillset that enables even non-designers to drive innovation in their team and wider organization. More and more, business leaders nowadays are recognising that empathy, creativity, cross-functional collaboration and rapid prototyping are essential business skills to drive internal innovation to meet complex business challenges successfully. In this discussion, Capco’s Amir Dotan and Sarah O’Callaghan will share how business analysts can improve their innovation skills using a human-centred design methodology that encourages problem-solvers to accept uncertainty, be creative, empathetic, imaginative and validate ideas early and frequently with end-users using rough prototypes. This approach and mindset often represents a considerable cultural shift in how an organization operates and typically approaches change management so it’s not as simple as it sounds!
