Business Analyst, Pets At Home

Location: Remote working, with travel to the Handforth Support Office
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per year


About the role
We’re looking for self-motivated, proactive and experienced Agile Business Analysts to come and join our newly formed agile delivery squads. The successful candidates will require excellent analytical and communications skills as they will work closely with Business Stakeholders and Product Owners to analyse business processes, elicit requirements and transform these into backlog items which can then be used by the Development teams to deliver iterative value.  

The Business Analyst will play a key role within the agile delivery squads by taking an active part in agile ceremonies and being the point of contact for queries relating to specific User Stories and the wider business. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Modelling and defining current and future business processes 
  • Investigating business challenges, problems and opportunities considering all perspectives 
  • Facilitating requirements and story mapping workshops and backlog refinement sessions 
  • Working with Business Stakeholders and Product owners to elicit and analyse business requirements 
  • Translating business requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria  
  • Ensuring Stories are well defined and ready for development in line with Sprint planning 
  • Assisting the Product Owner with backlog management 
  • Supporting the Development squad throughout the sprint  
  • Collaborating across delivery squads, and the wider Pets at Home Group, to understand dependencies and achieve common goals 

Essential Experience

  • Working as a Business Analyst within an agile environment for a minimum of two years 
  • Working with UX, design and development teams 
  • Experience of supporting Product Owners to articulate business needs across epics, features and user stories 
  • Proven experience of interacting with all levels of Stakeholders 
  • Proven experience of articulating risks, issues and impacts to influence decision making 
  • Proven experience of facilitating meetings and being able to explain complex business problems to a wide audience 

Desired Experience: 

  • Developing wireframes 
  • Product Management tools such as Winshuttle 
  • eCommerce/Retail  
  • Use of Azure DevOps 
  • BCS Foundation in Business Analysis Diploma
