Agile Transformation Journey
Royal Mail is starting the 3rd year of its Agile Transformation journey. During the first year, we commenced the Interconnect Project - the largest and most complex project for Royal Mail’s International team for over 10 years. We submitted it to The Corporate IT Forum’s Real IT awards for ‘Agile Project of the Year - 2018’. Against strong competition it was not only nominated for the award, we came away as winners.
Hear how a newly-formed and diverse cross-business team focused their talents and delivered on a shared goal. Discover how the challenges of working with 3rd-party development teams based both on and off-shore were overcome. The aim of this talk is to showcase how Royal Mail International embraced the Agile methodologies for the Interconnect Project and promoted the benefits of delivering value fast to both the business and project teams.
Antoine Ruette is a Business Analyst with 7 years experience. Currently working at Royal Mail Group, he has previously work for GE Capital International HQ, Dell Computers and Panasonic. Although early in his career he gained the PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification, he decided he’d much rather be a Business Analyst and ‘pivoted’ his career into Business Analysis.
Business Analysis and Leadership
Meeting the demands of rapid and constant change is not easy. It requires an inclusive leadership style, thinking holistically and innovatively, working collaboratively and acting strategically. By applying these approaches to business analysis practitioners, regardless of their job title, can increase their credibility and demonstrate the strategic value of business analysis.
The leadership that will be discussed is not about being a figurehead and it’s not about seniority. You could call it facilitative leadership, inclusive leadership, enabling leadership or leading from the middle!
James Archer is a Privacy Champion for ITV Studios.
