The Business Analyst Role Within Solution Driven Projects
Many Business Analysts cherish the opportunity to be involved in strategic thinking with business stakeholders. However, what happens when a Business Analyst is engaged in solution-driven projects with little involvement in those early stages? Furthermore, how can a Business Analyst support business change without even a BRD to put their name to? The role of a Business Analyst may differ slightly within these environments, but that does not reduce the value they add. Indeed, solid application of Business Analysis skills is fundamental to enabling success. Attendees will benefit from experience and learnings of the speaker in this field, and be more prepared should they encounter similar scenarios.

Stuart Peek evolved into a Business Analyst over 10 years ago from a technical background within Finance and Retail domains. He worked for 8 years within B&Q; and Kingfisher organisations, primarily on ERP projects from conception through to implementation. He also worked on numerous other initiatives spanning supply chain, logistics, commercial and finance lines of business. He has experience of working within IT and Business departments. Stuart now works at Specsavers where he is currently leading the Business Analysis within a product master data management programme.

Corrine Thomas has over 25 years' experience of working in analyst roles across a range of industry sectors including Local Government, Healthcare, Telecommunications and Financial services. During that time she has worked on projects such as the introduction of the poll tax and large billing projects in the telecoms industry. In recent years she has focused on creating BA practices within large Change teams and her most recent role was Head of Business Analysis at Virgin Media. She now works as an independent consultant focused on capability development for BA teams and personal coaching for professionals looking to realise their full career potential.
